Back to .500. Our owner must be overjoyed.

It's a shame we don't have much pitching because our offense is just going nuts right now. While our best player is hitting barely over .200. Another interesting Dukes factoid: thanks to playing in a league-high seven extra innings affairs so far, our wins leader is our closer with 4.

Carolina Tobs- 3-3 this week (15-17 overall)

We lost 2/3 @ Philadelphia and won 2/3 @ California. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to get excited over either.

Dana Scott had another solid week for us with an OPS over 1.000 and 3 more bombs. A month into the season, and Scott is your IL home run leader. A very pleasant surprise, to say the least. Along with Ismael Reyes, he's carrying the lineup.

Alex Rivas won his first start as a Tob, giving us 7 solid innings against California. I'm looking forward to more just like that.

On the farm, Val Aparicio put together two good starts, including a 7IP, 1 H, 0 R, 10 K, 1 BB effort. I'm definitely monitoring his progress closely and he should be on the BLB team at some point this season, assuming all goes well.

Also, my newest draft pick, Pat Wallace, broke his hand and is out for 2 months.

I'm incredibly disappointed in Cook and Poole. I expect better. Can't dream of winning games when your two guarantees are underperforming and only Coleman is coming out of the bullpen ashes to throw wins.

On the good side. Happy Trails to Pedro Zamarida who might need to have the nickname Phoenix.

                      2500th Hit for Zamarida
Friday, May 6th, 1994: "It would have been a lot nicer if my 2500th hit had won the game," said Pedro Zamarida after the Denver Bulls had been tripped up by the Los Lunas Javelinas, 5-4, spoiling his big day. The Bulls third baseman gained access to the exclusive 2500-hit club by going 1-for-5 in the game played at Rocky Top Park.

"The standing ovation by the fans is not something I will ever forget," Zamarida said to the press after the game. "I think even the Javelinas fans were cheering me."

Zamarida's career batting average stands at .278, and he has 382 home runs.
Of course, I just know he's doing this because he wants a new deal. And he's already asking for it.

Amazingly, when the season started, I checked and he only wanted about $5+ a year. Now, he wants a new $40MM /4 Year contract. He's not getting that from me.

I am. I don't mind giving him $10 MM. I'm giving Seltzer that money to hit like crap.

I just won't give him 4 years at age 37. Though, it does seem like hitters similar to Zamarida age well in the BLB.

Hit .200 for the week, 2-4, 11-21 overall. This team has 2 weeks to start winning or we're done.

F it though...just landed in Hawaii!
