A 3-3 week for Carolina, I'll take it. Finished our 9 game road swing to start the year at a torrid 1-8, before coming home to sweep the Bats. We still need our big bats in the middle of the lineup to realize the season has begun.

Masaoki Matsumoto was our star of the week, hitting .348. I thought he'd be able to hit in the BLB and so far he's proving that to be correct. Outside of him, my lineup really needs to step up, we're hitting .213 as a team and we're last in BA, SLG and OPS.

On the farm, we had some good performances:

Val Aparicio had a good debut in AAA, throwing a 1 hit shutout in his first game at that level. 10 K, 1 BB, 104 pitches, faced the minimum. He also picked up another win in his 2nd start, allowing 2 runs over 7.

Our other top-rated SP prospect, Ivan Martinez also earned two wins this week.

Also, Jerry Brown moved up to #1 on the top 100 prospects list. It doesn't mean much, but I think it's the first time anyone in my system has topped the list. Come 1998, maybe I'll have something there.

Looking ahead, we've got 3 at home against the defending champs before going back on the road for a 4 game series versus the Brawlers.

      Baltimore Bulldogs (9-5; 1st-Porter)

      1-2 at LAM
      2-1 vs. WC

3-3 sim that I'll take. We blew a great start by Salcido by walking in runs, but my bullpen is young and I expected a couple of these to show up throughout the year.

      Two Weeks in Review
-I hate when we start hot like this since there is no where to go but down. Young catcher, Wally MacChoiter is showing that he may be a bit more than meets the eye, leading the team in batting average at a clip under .400. Also AA callup, Sze Zhu, is making a gutsy decision to call him up early look really good. He is hitting .389 through the first two weeks. Its lucky that we have these young guys hitting well as veteran Bulldogs, Loren Wallace and Kyoden Kubota have both come out of the gates a bit sluggish.

The Bulldogs shocked a few experts by trading a future HOF pitcher within the division. Last week we made more waves with a blockbuster trade to bring former Denver front man, Donnie Greene, to helm the rotation in Baltimore. Greene seemed to like the move. He went 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in his first two starts. Also, former Wilmington castoff, Donnie Shilling, pitched well in his first outing. We hope that Shilling can fill the roll of a serviceable lefty arm that we desperately needed in our starting rotation.

      Other News
We are still waiting to see the power from ROY candidate, Marv Barnes. Barnes has started very well and looks to become a staple in the outfield on the The Porch for years to come. Also, Don McKay looks very good saving all 5 of his first attempts this year. I think he's finally putting it all together and may serve us well as a full-time closer this year.

      The Injured
Just as we trade Morgan, Escamilla goes down for a month. (OF) Brad Cherry gets the call up, but I think I'll be in the market for a right-handed outfielder soon.

      Next

Interdivisional play. This is where divisional crowns are won and lost, so I'm looking for a good performance here. 3 @ Philly and then 4 vs. Batavia will give us a good look at where we really stand early in the season.

You're right. I guess I was still thinking about that one that the rookies gave to you.

My 1993 first rounder (6th overall), Willie Castro - who was developing really nicely - suffered a CEI this sim after 6.1 strong innings in his AAA debut.

First- Clay, can you fix him?

                Secondly- fuck.

I'd go ahead and throw this in the Commish To-Do thread.

So my game crashed trying to load the sim on monday... sounds like other people were having the same problem. I then redownloaded the league file like people were saying but my now when i try to load the game on OOTP it says the world.dat is missing. yet i see the world.dat in the saved game file. not sure if im clearly explaining this but anyone have any thoughts or ideas? i would like to be able to export for the next sim. although my record was better when i didnt make changes so maybe that should tell me something. thanks

Did you also download the settings folder?

Redownload the league file and the settings folder (it's a separate file in the same post) and try again.

Also, it sounds like you also extracted the file into the league folder and then had it replace whatever files were the same.

If that is indeed the case, I would recommend deleting the entire BLB.lg folder and starting anew when you dl the league file.

                            1-5 (3-9 overall)

We quit. Who's next on the waiting list?

Game of the week had to be Batavia/Windy City. Extra innings complete with 11 total home runs.
