    NEXT SIM: Monday @ Noon

    ***

    No SIM on Friday!

Draft Pool is out. I'm going to try to get the Draft Utility Picks squared up before I leave town. I'll let you guys know. I'm thinking we'll officially kick off the Draft Monday after the SIM.

At first glance it certainly doesn't appear to be (and I think that is usually the case).

OK, for the life of me I couldn't remember trading my 1st rounder and was confused how I pick #1 in round 2...

No, the game does draft compensation differently than we do, so the order in game is wrong.

You should probably go ahead and trade that 1st to me just to be safe.

The in-game draft order will not be correct until the day I input it. It gives 1st Rounders away with Type A's.

A happy 2-4 for me. I like a few of the things I'm seeing.

Watching Browning, Alvarez, Borkholder, Zamarida (even Rivera) contribute as I expect is satisfying. New acquisition Morgan isn't going to do much with power and patience, but I think he can hit and he did a good job of that. I think my lineup is closer to where I want it to be.

The rotation is a hodge-podge of sorts. As is typical of Poole, he is 0-2 with a sub 3.00 ERA. He never seems to win games despite always having solid numbers. Not really much outside of what I'm expecting from people with the exception of T.J. Cook. He came out of Spring Training looking like a comfortable young pitcher and has struggled once the Opening Day banners were hung.

But it's in the minors where my attention is a lot of the day and the big three 1993 draft picks did themselves some good.

Sinclair didn't hit a homerun but drove in some runs for his second-favorite city.
Tufts wants to be in AAA and keeps on hitting.
Melson went beast hitting .400 and driving in 15.

As expected Bronson O'Brien is swinging the stick well in AAA. I'm letting it be known right now that O'Brien is up for grabs. The kid is going to be a good hitter, but he has a few outfielders blocking him.

Who's the most devastating offense in the IL? That's right, the feared Playboys. Which is good because we're also the worst pitching staff.
