Such great analysis. You have won me over.

I feel that the major difference is relievers have been used with a modern approach since league inception.

We didn't have 80 years of relievers being guys that couldn't start. We have 15 years of actual closers and more men have accomplished in the BLB what many haven't in MLB.

We are ahead of the times. It isn't fair to compare our league to MLB. MLB also had 40 years of actual play before starting a HOF so perspective on performance are also skewed.

Sure, and I get that. So, the BLB is 15 years old. So, how many relievers since 1995 are HOF worthy? Mariano? Hoffman?

If you lovey dovey voters had anything to do with the real HOF, Lee Smith, John Franco, and probably Jose Mesa would be hall of famers.

          Hell yeah!

But honestly I'm much more open about the Hall. I think if those two get in you won't see any for a while.

You're doing good work boys. 15 ballots already submitted and plenty of time for those remaining 9 to get theirs in. We appreciate it guys!

We're up to 19 ballots in and at this point it's only possible for 1 player on the ballot to be inducted. Jon Cleary will fall at least 1 vote short, but has already earned enough votes to remain on next year's ballot. Anyone/everyone feel free to visit his thread here and begin building his case for next season's voting.

The thing I don't understand about HOF voting here and real life is how a player receives more votes from one year to another. All of a sudden a player who wasn't worthy is? I guess here it makes more sense because of new owners. In real life I understand it less.

I think sometimes it just takes a few stabs at it for someone to see what makes a player valued. Also, I think the class the player is facing has a say.

When Latham made it, he was an obvious choice and so everyone else was compared to him. Stiver no longer had to worry about a player being that much better than him. He could stand on his own merits.

That's my problem. IF 5 guys deserve it then they should all get in. A player doesn't get better a year later in retirement.
