If I'm at 102 and cut someone costing 3, what happens to that players salary? Am I no longer accountable for it on my total players salary?

      What money?

If you're at $102.0 on ST2, you have to cut at least $2.0. It will hit your PLAYER EXPENSE, but it can't be on your roster. The money is gone.
      Word up!

You could then sign someone for $1.0

Your player salary can never exceed $100.0 unless pushed over by a call-up.

Unfortunately, it's a system that has not been perfected yet.

Yeah, I never really put much thought into it because it's nothing I ever have to worry about. It just appears to be a way for people to spend crazy money on players because the know they can always cut salaries and not have it prevent them from participating in free agency.

Think of it as active salary. The player counted towards your player payroll, you cut him, and now that salary is gone. I believe it still counts towards your expenses, but it's just not part of your active payroll.

For instance: You have a payroll of $102 MM. You cut a guy with a $3 MM salary. You replace him with a minor league player, thus triggering his league minimum salary of $280,000. Your active payroll is now $99,280,00.

            That makes sense?

It does and that's what I feared it was. I guess I just feel teams should still treat it as active salary. I'm not even sure that's possible but it would probably help with all the money floating around in this game. It is what it is, just doesn't make sense to me.

That's exactly why I always thought the rule was no NEW signings that push you above $100.0.

Oh, I agree. It sucks to think that guys can sign a bunch of players if they have the cash, then just cut them with no repercussions. I'm sure this will be fixed as time goes on, but this is still pretty new.

Sounds like a new rule proposal!

I suggest someone else makes it. My proposals are doomed to fail.

Lol, Clay, I think I've sided with u on like 75% of your proposals. (except the one about male bonding).

Perhaps a writing class to better articulate the point you're trying to convey?
