SIM COMPLETE - 1993 - Playoffs - Week 6 (Brewmaster's Cup Finals/End of Season)
It'll be interesting to see how history sees this Championship a few seasons from now. Kind of a "no name team".... Took three 7-game series.... 4 in a row'd the Colonials... Likely Dimmick's coming out party.... The "big name FA's" he LA signed, many of them got out right released (Simmonds, Nino)... Another "bad team" that developed young pieces through the draft.
Good for the Bandits.
In a related story, I heard Indy was relocating to Buffalo. ;)
Good series Spot, congrats!
Clay, thanks for doing the live chat, it was fun as hell. Seriously. It was about what I imagine hell being like.
Congrats to spot, great season for the Bandits and I definitely didn't see it coming. Hopefully the first of several championships to come out of the Bock in the next few seasons.
Also congrats to Chippered, tough break to lose again but that's a great team you've built that I'm sure will remain competitive.
Someone would have to make a stunning case for Harry Elliot for me. Drawing walks and changing jerseys isn't enough for my HOF Vote.
Without much thought, my initial feeling is: if every catcher is very good then the HOF catcher better be beyond great. And an .809 OPS isn't cutting it for me.

Exactly. I do think Lumar is all but a lock... and first pass I'd probably vote Krsnich.... but I'm biased because I played him a lot in his WIL days.
Happy 28th Birthday (in-game date) to my favorite player of all-time... Yoritoki Maeda.
Eerily similar to how Pat meets "companions", we plucked Maeda out of his native land at just 16 years old to bring him state-side to join our organization. 11 years later he's a cornerstone of our franchise.
He's played 1538 career games in the Virginia system. He made his BLB debut at 21 and after a slow early career, he has since won two DWI (Glove Wizard) Awards, been selected to three All-Star Teams and sports two Brewmaster's Cup rings.
He is the face of those 16 year olds, right? Any other true stars from that group?
We also drafted Vern Branch at 16. Eventually had to choose between the two in a deal with D'Port. Chose to move Branch because I felt like we would be more injury prone. He's a nice player, but I think I made the right choice.

I know, I know. You chicks dig the long ball.
However, to me, HOF #'s are HOF #s regardless of position.
Top 5 in AVG for 7 years
Best OBP in the league for 6 years, including 4 year span: '85-'88.
Top 4 in OBP for 9 years.
#5 All Time (among retired players) in AVG
#2 All-Time in OBP among all players (only surpassed by Shitty)
6X All-Star (in a league with great catchers)
1987 Cup Champion with California
He even has the same amount of hits as Lumar with almost 300 less ABs.
Elliot's numbers are borderline HOF at worst, and I'm not going to penalize him because he drew a lot of walks (isn't that what you are supposed to do) and was traded a lot. Hell he was traded so much because he was so valuable. He hit for a very good average, was one of the best ever in OBP, and did it for 16 years.
