    Spoiler

I guess I had a slight misunderstanding of what we were doing with these 7Day SIMs. I was under the belief that if an extra SIM was required (a series going past 5 games) that it would be held the next day and that the main SIMs would follow the regular SIM schedule?

Ohhh! Two runs in four games! Did someone sabotage the Guides bats!
Congratulation Indy you can't win a series any more convincing than that!

Wow, didn't expect that at all.

I haven't been a big fan of my pitching at all this year, but I can't argue with the effort the boys put up this series.

Great season, you had a heck of a year!

The way I understood the request (and how I have been proceeding) is that each SIM was no more than a week and only less if all series ended. As I said at the time, I wasn't going to additional SIM days (e.g. between SIM SIMS) because people do off-season resignings and such so I wanted to be consistent.

It wasn't meant to slow down the playoffs...it was meant to help managers strategize for games late in the series. It's really up to if the coaches are ready though.

Yes and No. It's really up to all of the Owners because I don't want guys to miss exports if they're wanting to try to reup with a guy.

I assumed the main goal was to (A) as you mentioned allow for adjustments but also (B) to allow more time to great drama and build excitement during the playoffs. I thought one of the complaints was that they went by too quickly.

It's a weird thing in this league. I think the playoffs/championship is the least important/enjoyable part of our season. Besides no real motivation to go for is (oh... hey... there's my old soapbox)... we have so many folks who check out during this time. Probably the nature of the beast.

I thought the way it's going right now is what we agreed to. Consistent 7-day sims just like the regular season.

Prior to that we had sims going beyond 7 days during the playoffs which made little sense when everything we do from DL to DFA is based off of 7-day sims.

The truth is the playoffs will always be too slow for the people not in it (unless they actually like it a lot like me) or too fast for those in it (as I imagine the best way to manage the playoffs for a GM would be one-day sims - just ask Delandis).

I like the drawn out playoffs as well.

That being said, considering in the past we went round 1 (monday) round 2 (wednesday) round 3(friday), it wouldn't hurt owners trying to resign players, etc if we went round 1 (monday-tuesday if necc), round 2 (wednesday-thursday if necc), round three (friday-monday if necc). It's the same amount of time they would have had, and in fact it would give them more opportunities to do a little bit and upload. They would just need to hit "check for updated files" before they update.

These guys are right. The below is what passed 14-2.

                        Playoff Sim Proposal

-7 day sims for the start of all series
                        - Previous sim to playoffs stops at the day the Wild Card begins
                        - The "if necessary" sims all end out the series and go to the starting day of the next round

                        Rd 1 - Monday - 7 days
(Tues if necessary until end of all series)
                        Rd 2 - Wednesday - 7 days
(Thurs if necessary until end of all series)
                        Rd 3 - Friday - 7 days
(Monday if necessary until end of all series)

If the 1st or 2nd round begins on a Friday then a continuation to a round can be completed Sat/Sun if necessary.

Obviously the days can change depending on where we are in the week.

Ya I drew it up just for the strategy part. I was one of the one's that believed the playoffs went too fast but there really isn't a lot to be done about that.

Unfortunately it's going to be a moot point the rest of this week as I can't SIM tomorrow (THURS). But we can go M-T next week if need be.

At the very least, at least it seems like some of us are enjoying the extended sims.

Now to see if Los Al can win 4 straight.

Love the matchup coming up. Best pitcher in the game today, Pancho, in the midst of his prime, versus one of the best of all time, Gugs, now 40 and in the twilight of his career, on what could only be described as (possibly) the last big start of his life. If only Bob Costas could work the lead for this one.

And then who gets the call against Jenkins in game 7, if neccessary of course? The other geriatric, LaRochelle (a two time Slammer, boom), or young McDonald?
