    Good News | Bad News

Good: We avoided going 1 -6 as we promised

Bad: We did so in an underhanded manner, we only played 6 games this week so 1-6 was an impossibility

Good: Hector Pagan pitched well in his 1st two games in a Freedom uni

Bad: He received zero run support and suffered two L's. Sorry about baseball Hector.

Good: Seriously grasping at straws here. Not one other good thing can be mentioned

Bad: We've been mediocre all season, but for the most part we at least resembled an actual baseball team. Over the last three weeks we more resemble something that a cat threw up on a rug. 3-17 during that time.

It can only get better from here. Who knows, maybe the team bus will go over the side of a bridge and we'll cancel the rest of our games. That would be sweet.

      2-4

When you hit .250 for the week and your starting pitchers have ERA's of 5.87, 6.75, 12.27, 18.00, 19.29, and 67.50 you know it's summer time in Batavia!

...and, to be fair, I'm trying to blow up my team but no one will trade with me.

Well it just sucks when my team is full of Ice Cubes. I'm waiting for some Fire icons to appear any day now but I just don't think OOTP is going to let me have it this year.

OOTP hates the Porter this season.

Pawtucket 4-2. Added a game to the lead. Bob is back. Lets see if I can hold on to a second baseball for the rest of the year.

Offense is still chugging along thank god. Samuel Helmrich having that breakthrough season I was waiting for!!!!

In Z's absence we are going to temporarily take over the “Team to Beat” title, but we’re going to alter it to: “The Team to Beat. . . . no seriously, lineup and take your shots, you’ll probably beat us handily”.

Kind of wordy, but catchy. Of course we can just shorten it to TTTB...NSL&TYSYWPBUH to make it more simple.

I'll join you. Officially going to give it up - not that I expected much anyway - and send Soto and Stevens back down to compete for a Triple A title. I tend to agree with Clay that winning leads to good things. I want those men to taste victory.

In the month of April, the Washington Bats went 8-16. On May 25th, the team signed former Bat and infielder Jack Dynes to a one-year, $650,000 contract.

By May 29th, the Bats were 20-30. On May 31st, the team inserted Jack Dynes into the starting lineup to play 2B. From May 30th-August 8th, the Bats went 43-18.

For the Bats, Dynes is hitting .272/.392/.417/.809 including a .905 OPS vs. RH pitching.

                            Coincidence? I think not.
