I think Virginia should be considered at a few positions....

SS - Hector Chavez - I think people will make a solid case Ednams (BAT). I think they are just about dead even is most areas. Chavez has more RUNS and RBI, but that's likely a factor of team. Ednams is better defensively and has a slightly higher OPS as of today. What I feel (my opinion) slightly pushes Chavez into the starting spot are his Top 5 BBs and league leading and off-the-charts 35 SBs. My opinion completely.

3B - Yoritoki Maeda - Maeda is a having a solid season and looks like the 3B to beat in the IL.

OF - Mel Woodbury & Jerry Daly - Woodbury should be a no brainer... he may be having his best season ever. All those triples that Daly hit last year seem to be going over the fence this season raising his power number and putting him into a slot for a potential All-Star vote.

SP - Pancho Herrera & Gus Jenkins - Slow start for Herrera, but seems to look like himself again. Jenkins may has arguably had the best "year" of any BLB Pitcher playing right now. In the 31 starts of his short career (excluding playoffs), he's 23-3 with a 2.49 ERA. 1993 has him sporting a 9-1 record and a sub 1.00 WHIP.

RP - Ivan Olivo & Sammy Scott - I don't think any pitcher is the #1 candidate... but both at least deserve consideration.

While I'd like to try to make a case for Toyoshige Yamauchi and his 17 HRs - 65 RBI... he's my Rob Deer and in a talent rich 1B race, not sure I can even make a case with a straight face.

Although Baltimore isn't the offensive juggernaut of recent years, we still have a few players that should get serious consideration:

Kyoden Kubota (C) is continuing his great play in Baltimore, even after playing a bit of 3rd base.

Ivan Garcia (2B) is playing very well this year. Leading all 2B in OBP, OBPS, WOBA, 2B, and XBH. I guess he's feeling good to have Scott out of the Porter.

Gil O'Moore (SP) is worth the price of admission this year. With a sizzling 1.86 ERA and 1.03 WHIP, there are just a few guys pitching as well as O'Moore so far in 1993.

Lonnie Grady (SP) keeps on chugging along. Lonnie has a breakout season derailed with a late season injury. Grady leads the IL with 9 wins and a 32.1 VORP.

Amsalu Mteule (RP) has pitched well for us in relief. I'm not sure that his 21 innings is enough for consideration but he's at just 1.66 ERA with a respectable 1.02 ERA.

Cesaro Pena (RP) is also having another great year. Again another pitcher with just about 20 innings so far this season so the sample size is a bit small, but impressive nonetheless.

              Outside Chances:

Loren Wallace (OF) isn't having the stellar year that we are used to him having at this time of year, however, he is still one of the best defensive outfielders in the IL.

              Don Castor (1B):
Not having a year on par to last season's All-Star year, but still should be have a little consideration.

Victor Escamilla (OF) hasn't completely hit his stride as a young player and I know he really doesn't deserve All-Star consideration, just a young name to remember.

Takanibu Sato (OF) was injured early in the year and his injury contributed to our early season struggles. If he is eligible, I think his play should earn him some consideration.

Surprised with the amount of votes that 1B Don Hudson is receiving, I didn't even vote for him! But please keep stuffing those ballots.

We only really have one other player who is worth considering and that's......

CL - Hans Gordinho - one of my favourite Brawlers of all-time, he's having a great year with 14 saves, 2.28 ERA and a 0.59 WHIP.

                      Ale Division Champions: 2021, 2022
                      DL Wildcard: 2019, 2020

                      Davenport Brawlers - 1988 to 1998

Disappointed that Sakuma is not getting any love. He has 18 saves and a 2.18 ERA with a 94.7 SV%. McSwain has more votes than he does...
