  • Went with C Manny Vicioso from Mexico.

I actually had a couple other guys rated higher, but I could use a catching prospect in my organization and I had a big drop off after Vicioso. Plus, my scout loves him and he's a hard worker.

Two negatives, his "stats" from international leagues and OSA ratings. Like Skerik said, I tend to look to OSA ratings for confirmation, at least on higher picks.

    • Ritchason and Travis were both on my short list. The latter can't field of course, but I think Ritchason could be a pretty nice 2B.

              WTF?

              Never pays to be nice.

Again didn't expect to take pitcher here but Garcia was graded as a late 1st value for us an another one on our watch list.

              • I don't usually pick relievers this early in the draft, but I decided to go with Pancho Valentin. I've got him as the top overall reliever in the draft, throws 97-99 and is left-handed. I don't really have much in the way of top line relief prospects in my system, so hopefully he'll be a good one.

I think there's a couple fringe top 100 players left. I don't see ton to get excited about, but there's some value remaining.

                • My scout approves of every pick in the 2nd round. You guys completely decimated my queue list. Well done.

                  • Really excited to get CL Pepe Sanchez at 2.11. He was almost our pick at 2.6, but there was more depth at reliever so we took Vicioso and Sanchez still fell to us.

                            • Draft Lists

Isn't there some way to generate a report or list from the in-game draft list created by the Scouting Director? Whenever I select "Open Report" or "Write Report to Disk" I just get a short list of 14 seemingly random players. I have no way to "cross off" the names on my scout's list as the draft proceeds. Drafting according to OSA ratings in the utility blows.

                              • Took Roberto Romo after trading into the latter part of the 2nd round. My scout likes Romo, he's not going to be an ace but my scout thinks he has a shot at being a back of the rotation starter. I was deciding between him and Gene Ball but Ball came off the board- also, I wasn't enthralled with Ball's horrendous stats this season.
