Very happy to get Artie Clemons- he was top 5 on my draft board. He's not going to hit for power but he could be a prototypical top of the lineup hitter in the future. My scout thinks he's the best pure hitter in the draft. It's no secret that, while I'm happy with Gene Dixon, the remainder of my outfielders have been pretty disappointing.
I have another pick in Round 2 and then nothing for a while. I have about 30 people on my list so I should be able to pick up another player I like.Last edited by Spectre; 04-23-2011, 01:47 PM.

#19 is now off the table. Didn't receive any offers. I have three players in my queue set to Auto From List.
Come to think of it, I may be looking to move up from 2.22, if anyone is interested. I have two 3rds and two 4ths still.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

A flurry of picks just went off the board:
1 17 17 Los Lunas Javelinas MR Abayghur Tulun
1 18 18 Virginia Colonials RF Pancho Barajas
1 19 19 Washington Bats 1B Nari Garin
1 20 20 Batavia Muckdogs MR Tony Arreola
1 21 21 Indianapolis Clowns SS Fulvio Barbiusa
My scout thinks Tulun is the #1 MR in the draft. He also could develop a 3rd pitch down the road and would be a steal. My scout liked a few hitters potential better than Barajas at this point but he seems like a safe pick and a Colonial-type. Arreola looks solid but my scout liked a few MRs a bit more. Barbiusa is the first player my scout doesn't see with BLB potential...you fuckin' clown!
I ended up selecting 1B Nari Garin. After selecting two collegiate players that I thought were pretty "safe" picks, I took a risk here. Garin has question marks. He just turned 18. He is extremely raw, 2's accross the board. He is another 1B/LF/DH type that probably should be in the Domestic League. He doesn't care about winning and has a terrible work ethic, just what you want from a guy whose a leader in the clubhouse...However, my scout thinks he is the truth, 5-6-6-6-4, and he is pretty good on the basepaths for a 1B, I must say.
And now we wait for Maine, again...if a team is auto'd earlier, aren't they on Auto until they post/draft again?Last edited by Pat; 04-23-2011, 03:02 PM.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

Just got back from Malaysia, checking in on the draft. Many, many names I had on my short list have been taken, so nice job everyone. I ended up taking Johnston (or Coleman if you prefer) #1 because he was the best player on my board, he's a "baseball rat," and he has high intangibles that I think matter when it comes to player development. It's also usually a good thing when my scouts agree with OSA when it comes to highly regarded prospects. In the end it was a choice between him and Fury Brown, who has a nickname and also has a very high leadership rating, which is somewhat of a rarity.
Other later picks I really liked include Herrera (my scout thinks he's an 8 contact hitter, albeit with zilch power), Chandler (best position player in this draft), and Tulun whom my scout thinks is the most talented player in this draft. I don't like spending first round picks on middle relievers, but at 17 I don't think that's a bad pick at all.SIN CITY GAMBLERS since 1990

Draft Utility Problem
Having terrible trouble with the draft utility. The draft report keeps on refreshing itself very quickly more like every 10 seconds not the 60 seconds it says at the bottom of the report. At the top of the page in red it says auto pick in progress in red. When I go into the team war room it kicks me back out to the draft report. I can't select a player, make a pick or make a list. Anyone have any ideas?
I am using IE8 and am logged into the utility. I have also tried other browsers but am getting nowhere.
Thanks
Alan
